The National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh in brief NCYB is the collective body of 12 Local YMCAs situated in different part of the country. The NCYB has been established in 1974 by the five (5) local YMCAs. Later on with the direct initiative of NCYB seven (7) more local YMCAs have been established at different part of Bangladesh. The National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh is an affiliate member of the World Alliance of YMCAs, based in Switzerland and the Asia & Pacific Alliance of YMCAs, based in Hong Kong. A member of the YMCA Fraternity encompassing around 119 countries in the world, the NCYB also share the common legacy of Sir George Williams who formed the first YMCA in London in 1844. The key role of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh is to assist all member local YMCAs to strengthen their own movement so that they are able to attain their mission. The NCYB also provides technical assistance to local member YMCAs in designing and implementing community based development programs.
National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh is registered under the Society Act XXI of 1860 in January 12, 1978 holding registration no: S-601/17 as non-profitable voluntary organization to serve the local youth and poor and marginal communities in Bangladesh.
