 The strategic direction of NCYB

 (i) Movement Strengthening

The National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh adopts the Global Operating Plan, a strategy devised by the World Alliance of YMCAs, as a guiding principle for Movement Strengthening Process of the YMCAs. The strategy is based on three pillars; all the components of the Strategic Objectives shall encompass these three areas for the YMCAs to develop.

  1. Mission Clarity
  2. Institutional Viability
  3. Social Relevance

(ii) Resource Mobilization

Resource Mobilization is another challenge for the YMCAs of Bangladesh, both at the local and national levels. Since the inception of the Bangladesh YMCAs, it has been heavily dependent on international financial support for all its development programs. As such a dependency model has been developed in the past few decades.

Now it has been realized that such a working model cannot contribute to the sustainability of the YMCAs. As such Resource Mobilization has become a challenge for the Bangladesh YMCAs, in terms of tapping internal resources.
